Cockfighters Ghost Merlot 2003 is
purple to red in colour. The nose
shows blackcurrant, blueberry and
mulberry fruit characters along
with some earth and spice.
The palate is rich with dark berry
flavours and subtle vanillin oak.
The wine has good length on the
palate with soft tannins.
This is a wine which will continue
to improve for four to five years
in the cellar if stored in optimum
conditions. It makes an ideal
accompaniment to hearty red meat
dishes such as beef and lamb
casseroles, roast and barbecued
steak.
