Despite being the big-name malt brand, Glenfiddich is one of the few remaining independents. The distillers describe their baby as "fresh and fruity with a touch of pear, subtle pine and a hint of peatiness". Nose: Light and malty/mealy. Some citric notes (lemon/orange peel). Water opens up the nutty crackerbread maltiness alongside some dry grass and dried apple.
Palate: Soft with vanilla, malt, a light nuttiness and a soft mid-palate.
Finish: Soft and lightly fruity with a hint of chocolate.
Overall: Very clean, well-made and attractive.
