The wine has an intense ruby red
colour and a good extraction. At
the nose this blend is incredibly
intense and persistent and offers
notes of blackcurrants, plums,
dried mushrooms and spices. At the
palate the wine is warm, fresh and
tannic. Notes of pepper, cinnamon,
coffee and tobacco are perceived
throughout the tasting. The finish
is long and dominated by the
Sangiovese grape flavours. This
wine pairs well with many Italian
dishes and it can definitely be
considered a "food wine". Try it
with stewed rabbit, roasted pork,
pasta with ragout sauce and aged
Pecorino Toscano cheese.
