Mojito


MOJITO
Mojito is a tradiional Cuban highball.  Its combination of sweetness, citrus, and herbaceous mint flavors is intended to complement the rum and has made the mojito a classic cocktail.

Ingredients
Juice of 1 lime / 1 tsp granulated sugar / small handful of mint leaves  plus extra sprig to serve / 60ml white rum / soda water to taste

Method 
Muddle the lime juice, sugar and mint leaves in a small jug, crushing the mint as you go. Pour into a tall glass and add a handful of ice. Pour over the rum, stirring with a long-handled spoon. Top up with soda water, garnish with mint and serve.
 

Strawberry DAIQUIRI
 

STRAWBERRY DAIQUIRI
A twist on the original rum cocktail, the Strawberry Daiquiri is now a classic in it’s own right. The perfect combination of dry white rum, fresh fruit strawberries and tangy lime.

Ingredients
8 strawberries plus extra to decorate / 4tsp caster sugar / 5tbsp white rum / 2tbsp strawberry liqueur / 3tbsp fresh lime juice 

Method 
Place all the ingredients in a blender and whiz until smooth. Pour into glasses and decorate each glass with half a strawberry.
 

Bellini


BELLINI
The Bellini was invented by Giuseppe Cipriani, founder of Harry's Bar in Venice, Italy. The drink started as a seasonal speciality and later  became popular at the bar's New York counterpart.

Ingredients
500ml purée or peach nectar / 1 bottle Prosecco

Method 
Put the peach puree in a Champagne flute up to about 1/3 full and slowly top up with Prosecco.
 

Bloody Mary


BLOODY MARY
The French bartender Fernand Petiot claimed to have invented the Bloody Mary in 1921. He was working at the New York Bar in Paris at the time, which later became Harry's New York Bar.

Ingredients
50ml vodka / 12ml lemon juice / 4 dashes Worcestershire sauce / 2 dashes hot pepper sauce / 1 tsp black pepper / 1 tsp salt / 100ml tomato juice / 1 lemon, cut into wedges to garnish / 1 celery stick, to garnish

Method 
Fill a highball glass with ice and add the vodka, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, black pepper and salt. Top up the glass with the tomato juice. Stir gently, then garnish with a lemon wedge and a stick of celery.
 

BOULEVARDIER


BOULEVARDIER 
The creator  of The  boulevardier cocktail is ascribed to Erskine Gwynne, an American-born writer who founded a monthly magazine in Paris called Boulevardier, which appeared from 1927 to 1932.

Ingredients
45ml bourbon whiskey / 30ml Martini Rosso sweet vermouth / 30ml Campari Bitter

Method 
Stir all the ingredients with ice and strain into ice-filled glass.
 

Buck's Fizz


BUCK'S FIZZ
Buck’s Fizz  is named after London's Buck's Club, where it was invented as an excuse to begin drinking early. It was first served in 1921 by a barman named Malachy McGarry.

Ingredients
50ml freshly squeezed orange juice / 100ml chilled Champagne

Method 
Pour 50ml of the orange juice into a  glass and then very slowly top up with 100ml champagne.
 

APEROL SPRITZ


APEROL SPRITZ 
The Aperol Spritz became widely popular outside of Italy around 2018 and was ranked as the world's 9th best selling cocktail in 2019 by the website Drinks International.

Ingredients
90ml Prosecco / 60ml Aperol Aperitivo / 30ml soda water / orange slices

Method 
Add ice and an orange slice to a tall glass. Pour in the Prosecco and then the Aperol. Add a good splash of soda.
 

Cosmopolitain


COSMOPOLITAN 
The most recognized creation of the Cosmopolitan  is credited to Toby Cecchini, of The Odeon in Manhattan in 1987.

Ingredients
45ml  vodka / 15ml triple sec / 30ml cranberry juice / 10ml lime juice / ice

Method 
Combine vodka, lime juice, triple sec  and cranberry juice in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, cover and shake until chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
 

ESPRESSO MARTINI


ESPRESSO MARTINI
Believed by many to have been created by Dick Bradsell  while at Fred's Club in London for a young lady who asked for something that would, "Wake me up, and then **** me up."

Ingredients
45ml  vodka / 30ml espresso coffee (hot) / 20ml coffee liqueur / 3  coffee beans

Method 
Add all of the ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with 3 coffee beans.
 

Negroni


NEGRONI
"While the Negroni’s  origins are unknown, the most widely reported account is that it was first mixed in Florence, Italy, in 1919, at Caffè Casoni  now called Caffè Roberto Cavalli.

Ingredients
25ml gin / 25ml sweet vermouth / 25ml Campari / ice / orange

Method 
Mix  the gin, vermouth and Campari into a mixing glass with ice. Stir until the glass feels cold. Strain into a glass and add 1 large ice cube then  garnish with an orange slice.
