We have great pleasure in announcing that today is the launch of a wine that was started way back in 2015. The wait is over! Ever since Taittinger became the first Champagne house to invest in English soil, we knew something extraordinary was in the making. As long standing customers and supporters of Taittinger and Hatch Mansfield, we have been fortunate enough to be able to stock and sell some of their first edition release on launch day! With so much pressure for this wine to be outstanding given the name behind it, the team was meticulous in only releasing it when they were truly happy with the result. And you have to say, it is superb. There’s something undeniably special about owning the very first edition. With just 100,000 bottles of Edition I produced to satisfy demand worldwide, this is a stunning debut that will be a joy to drink over the summer and for years beyond. This wine is available upstairs now while stocks last and if you wish to reserve any for collection, please contact: richard@campbellsofleyburn.co.uk or tel 01969 624391 |

Taittinger comes to England! Domaine Evremond is the realisation of a shared dream between lifelong friends Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger and Patrick McGrath to craft exceptional English Sparkling Wine of the highest quality. Champagne Taittinger and partner Hatch Mansfield have worked together for over 25 years, establishing Taittinger as a leading Champagne in the UK. In 2015, founders and friends Pierre Emmanuel Taittinger and Patrick McGrath located the perfect site for their collaboration. So began our journey to make a top-quality English Sparkling Wine that reflects the family-focused philosophies of both companies. 'Our family has always had a great affection for the UK and for Kent - my father, Jean Taittinger twinned Canterbury with Reims when he was mayor of the latter in the 1950s. We believe the combination of chalk soils, climate and topography of our site in Kent are ideal for producing quality sparkling wine and are very similar to the terroir in Champagne. We are proud to be the first Champagne house to plant vineyards to grow wines in the UK in collaboration with our dear friends.' Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger Founder |

| Producer Note Domaine Evremond purchased Stone Stile Farm from the Gaskain family in 2015 as the first step in establishing Domaine Evremond. Gaskains Ltd is a highly experienced, multi-generational UK fruit farm that is also one of the UKs largest apple growers. Mark Gaskain (Managing Director of Gaskains Ltd) and Jason Streatfield (Farm & Vineyard Manager) are responsible for the day to day growing operations in the vineyards and work passionately alongside the Taittinger team, sharing their knowledge of horticulture as well as the local land and climate to ensure that together they deliver first class fruit to the winery every year. Domaine Evremond is part of ‘The Wine Garden of England’. A group of industry pioneers who represent the diversity of top quality wineries in Kent. The nine wineries are collectively committed to creating a world-class wine trail and visitor experience in Kent. A unique partnership between Champagne Taittinger and their British friends, Hatch Mansfield, this marked the first time that a Champagne house had invested in the United Kingdom with the ambition of producing a top quality sparkling wine. It is an endeavour bonded by history, friendship and collaboration, with authenticity and a sense of place at its heart. Continuity of history Charles de Saint-Évremond Domaine Evremond takes its name from Charles de Saint-Évremond (1613-1703), a Frenchman and the first true ambassador for the wines of Champagne, who fuelled its popularity in England at the court of Charles II. A poet, epicurean and literary critic, he was buried in Poet’s Corner in Westminster Abbey. The Taittinger family, passionate historians, have always been inspired by the Evremond story and named their own historic venture in his memory. Following an 18 month search with exacting criteria, the ideal site for Domaine Evremond was found close to the picturesque village of Chilham in Kent. Here, the first vines were planted in 2017, followed by the first full harvest in 2019. In 2021 the first blend was carefully crafted, bottled and left to gently mature for 3 years. The next key milestone, reached in 2022, saw the ground prepared for the estate’s winery and Cellar Door. The momentous journey continued in autumn 2024 with the opening of the Domaine Evremond winery for its first harvest. The release of the first edition Domaine Evremond ‘Classic Cuvée’ is today 3rd April 2025 Kent, ‘The Garden of England’ is the spiritual home of Taittinger. Their long history with the county and its perfect combination of chalky soil, similar to Champagne, and climate provided the foundation of place. The quintessentially beautiful village of Chilham, close to Canterbury, its home. Classified as Quality English Sparkling Wine, Domaine Evremond Classice Cuvée is a true expression of its place. |

| Domaine Evremond Classic Cuvée NV, Edition I, Quality English Sparkling Wine, Chilham, Kent 12% vol. 75cl £52.99 Edition 1 Blend 55% Pinot Noir 35% Chardonnay 10% Pinot Meunier Winemaking The wine is fermented and matured entirely in stainless steel vats and undergoes malolactic fermentation. Ageing Three years on the lees The soul of the wine The Classic Cuvée expresses the heart and soul of Domaine Evremond. The Kentish terroir, with its chalky soils and oceanic influence, is expressed through the wine’s minerality and precision. Behind the label The label for Domaine Evremond Classic Cuvée was inspired by archived imagery of the figure who gave the estate its name: Charles de Saint-Évremond. The label’s oval shape mirrors the frame of his 1659 portrait by Pieter van Gunst, while the estate’s emblem, the cinquefoil (a heraldic five-petalled flower), is fashioned after Charles de Saint-Évremond’s crest. Tasting Notes The wine is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier, reflecting the current plantings at the 69-hectare estate. A citric, bright lemon and green apple freshness defines the lively nose of the wine. More air allows lemony Viennoiserie to peep through, as well as an ozone breeze. Fine, creamy bubbles immediately distinguish the slender palate, where more lemon freshness is bedded in the smoothness of that exemplary mousse. An impressive and elegant debut, svelte and clean-cut, especially considering the Pinot Noir dominance of the wine. Châpeau. 93pts Anne Krebiehl MW, vinous.com, February 2025 The first release of a project that brings Taittinger to England, Domaine Evremond was co-founded by the Taittinger family and Patrick McGrath MW. A blend of 55% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Meunier, this wine spent three years on the lees before disgorgement in 2024. Bright, pale straw in the glass, the nose is quintessentially English sparkling, bursting with notes of apple blossom, honeysuckle and lemon verbena. The palate is built around a streak of lively acidity, the mousse with a creamy texture that adds body and depth to the green-fruited core. There is a suppleness thanks to this, contrasting a chalky edge with light bready notes in the background. With 7g/l dosage, this is a finely-balanced, refreshing and bright wine that is a strong first effort as the team learns how the young vines react to their surroundings. 90+ Thomas Parker MW, Farr Vintners, March 2025 |
