Hi all, I hope through the power of our social media following you may be able to help me. I’m helping to organise this fundraising race night evening for my local cricket club Spennithorne & Harmby, with which I have been involved with in some form for over 30 years. The team currently play in the Saturday Theakston Nidderdale League and the Wensleydale Evening Cricket League as well as various cup competitions. With all the costs involved in maintaining the ground (which is all done voluntarily) and running a sports club, fundraising events are essential. In order to make the event a fun evening, we are hosting a Race Night. It is on Friday 4th July at the The Queens Head Finghall starting at 7.30 (first race) Tickets are available in advance at £10 each and include a pie & peas supper. These can be purchased from myself upstairs in Campbells, or from Simon Walker (details below). The night is being run by a company and will consist of 7 races with betting and prizes available on the night. It would be great to see you there to support a local club! I am also selling owners at £5 each or jockeys at £3 each in advance, with winning owners receiving a bottle of Taittinger! Come and see me in the store if you would like to take part.
