Discovering the Wines of Langmeil Winery
06 May, 2026

A few months back Store Manager Richard had the pleasure of meeting Leigh Woodrow, Sales Manager at Langmeil Winery, who visited the store alongside suppliers Berkmann Wine Cellars for a private tasting of the winery’s exceptional range from the Barossa Valley.

This family-owned winery based in Tanunda is renowned for producing rich, characterful wines that truly capture the spirit of the Barossa. Famous for bold Shiraz alongside beautifully balanced Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon, the range offers depth, quality and real drinkability.

We think you’ll really love these wines, so be sure to head Upstairs at Campbell’s and discover the Langmeil collection for yourself.

These wines are available now, subject to availability. To reserve any bottles for collection, please contact: richard@campbellsofleyburn.co.uk / 01969 624391

Langmeil Vineyards

Founded in 1842, Langmeil Winery is home to the Barossa’s oldest surviving vineyard. With a deep respect for tradition, they blend time-honored techniques with modern winemaking to preserve the region’s legacy.

Background

The Lindner family has been immersed in the Barossa’s culture of farming, food and wine for six generations, and their Langmeil winery is a model of the family-run producer. James Lindner is in charge of sales and marketing, while his brother Paul is chief winemaker. The commitment to quality in all aspects is unwavering, the wines showing the assurance and deft touch that only ever come from intimate knowledge of the region. Langmeil is also home to what is believed to be the oldest surviving Shiraz vineyard in the world, named The Freedom 1843 after the year it was planted.

Langmeil has been a part of the Barossa landscape since 1842, and is now the winemaking home of its owners the Lindner family whose own mark on the Barossa spans six generations of regional farming, food, community and wine. Wine has also been a way of life in the Barossa since 1842.

Fast forward to today, and Barossa is home to more than 550 grape growing families, many with the sixth generation still working the same plot of land, supplying quality grapes to more than 170 wine companies, including Langmeil. The best Barossan wines sit comfortably alongside the great wines of the world. Barossa Shiraz and Eden Valley Riesling have led the way as regional heroes, with cabernet sauvignon, mataro, grenache, semillon and fortified wines all contributing to Barossa's standing as one of the world's great wine regions.

Barossa incorporates both Barossa Valley and Eden Valley, making it one of the only areas in Australia to have neighbouring warm and cool climate growing conditions. With such a diversity of growing conditions and soil types acrossboth valleys, and vineyards that have been tended by hand for many generations, you are bound to find a wine to call your own.

Langmeil Spring Fever
Chardonnay 2024
13.5% vol, 75cl

Only £18.99

Bold and fruity, with melon, citrus and tropical fruit aromas complemented by a subtle, nutty complexity on the palate. Freshness comes from the bright yet balanced acidity and the finish has a pleasingly creamy note.

Grapes for this wine come from ten to twenty-year-old vines planted on red clay over limestone and sandy loam.

After pressing, the must was quickly separated from the skins before undergoing alcoholic fermentation, 59% in stainless steel and 41% fermented in second fill French oak. Malolactic fermentation was not carried out. The wine was then left to age on its lees for seven months with regular stirring.
