We've a sensational new arrival Upstairs at Campbell's, which comes highly recommended by Kath Campbell herself, who has had the pleasure of visiting the historic Stade’s West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados. Inspired by the Caribbean and crafted with local ingredients, Citadelle Bajan is the second expression in the Citadelle Excentrique range. This limited-edition gin embraces a sun-soaked eccentricity, taking gin to the birthplace of rum and putting grapefruit in the spotlight, an emblematic citrus that first appeared on the island in the 18th century. |
![]() Unlike Citadelle’s classic French gin, Bajan is distilled from molasses using historic pot stills, reflecting Barbados’ long association with rum production. The spirit is then infused with botanicals that showcase the island’s character, including grapefruit, hibiscus (known locally as sorrel), bay leaves and lemongrass. The grapefruit pays homage to Barbados, where the fruit was first cultivated in the 18th century, while hibiscus contributes a vibrant floral note with subtle berry-like tartness. Bay leaves and lemongrass add savoury freshness inspired by local cooking and traditional herbal remedies. |
![]() Citadelle Bajan was awarded a Gold Medal at The Gin Masters 2026 – First Tasting, recognising its innovative approach and distinctive flavour profile. Discover Citadelle Bajan Upstairs at Campbell's, among our fabulous range of boutique and artisan spirits from around the world. |
